Teresa Milheiro (Lissabon (Portugal), 1969) was en is onder meer actief als sieraadontwerper, galeriehouder en docent. Zij woont en werkt in Lissabon (Portugal).
Biografie
Milheiro is opgeleid aan António Arroio (Portugal) en Ar.Co in Lissabon (Portugal) (1987-1991). Ook nam ze deel aan workshops onder leiding van Peter Skubic (1991) en Paolo Marcolongo (1991).
In 1994 was Milheiro een van de oprichters van Associação Zé dos Bois (ZDB). De associatie bood tentoonstellingsruimte aan aan sieraadontwerpers, omdat er in de reguliere Portugese galeries amper gelegenheid werd geboden voor het tentoonstellen van sieraden. In 1999 en 2000 werkte Milheiro in het atelier van Stephan Maroschek. Van 1999 tot en met 2008 werkte Milheiro samen met de sieradenfirma Archeofacto.
Articula Studio werd in 1999 opgericht op initiatief van Milheiro. In 2007 opende Milheiro Galeria Articula in samenwerking met Archeofacto. Ze bood er sieraden aan die ze in samenwerking met Archeofacto ook verkocht in museumwinkels. In 2008 stopte de samenwerking met Archeofacto en vanaf dat moment runde Milheiro de galerie zelfstandig. Het geld dat de verkoop van de producten opleverde maakte het mogelijk werk van zowel Portugese alsook buitenlandse sieraadontwerpers te presenteren in tentoonstellingen. In 2012 stopte Milheiro met de galerie.
Milheiro gaf les aan Ar.Co te Lissabon (Portugal) (2016-2019) en ESAD te Matosinhos (Portugal) (2018-2019).
In haar sieraden verwerkt Milheiro uiteenlopende materialen zoals metaal, (gerecycled) glas, verchroomd messing, staal, kunststof, tanden (zowel van dieren als van mensen) en botten.
Sieraden van Milheiro werden en worden gepresenteerd door onder meer Galeria Reverso.
